Virama Farm Stay

About Virama

A Real Farm Stay, Built by Someone Who Actually Lives on the Land

Virama is a 3-acre private farm stay in Thorechannohalli, Magadi, 45km from Bangalore. It was built not as a hotel project, but as a working farm that opened its gates to guests.

Your Host

Radha K

Radha K is the founder and full-time host of Virama Farm Stay. She manages every booking personally — there is no third-party team, no booking manager, no front desk. When you call or WhatsApp to book, you speak directly to Radha K.

The farm in Thorechannohalli, Magadi Taluk was her family's agricultural land — 3 acres planted with Areca Nut, Melia Dubia, Mahogany, Teak, Lemon and Jackfruit trees over many years. Opening it as a farm stay was a deliberate decision to share the land with people from Bangalore who rarely get to experience what a real Karnataka farm looks and feels like.

Radha K oversees every aspect of the stay — the food prepared by the in-house cook, the maintenance of the pool, the firewood for the bonfire, the cleanliness of the rooms. The 4.9-star rating across 171 Google reviews reflects that personal involvement.

The Property

The Farm: 3 Acres, 4,000 Trees

The farm is planted with Areca Nut rows, Melia Dubia stands, Mahogany, Teak, Lemon, Jackfruit and Coconut trees. Walking through the property — especially early morning — feels genuinely like being inside a forest, not a manicured resort garden.

The 24-hour sand-filtered pool sits in the middle of the property with a gazebo beside it. The bonfire area is set in the open farm, surrounded by trees. The rope activity stations are spread across the property. Rooms are on two floors — 5 king-size AC rooms and 1 ten-bed bunker room.

The in-house cook prepares breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner fresh every day — South Indian (idli, dosa, rasam, sambhar) or North Indian (roti, dal, sabzi) depending on the group's preference. Guests consistently cite the food as one of the highlights of the stay.

Virama is 45km from Bangalore city centre via Mysore Road or Magadi Road — approximately a 1-hour drive. GPS coordinates: 13.0978°N, 77.3933°E. Thorechannohalli, Magadi Taluk, Karnataka 562120.

Our Philosophy

Why We Do This

Most Bangalore residents have never spent a night on a real working farm. They know farms from pictures — not from the sound of the Areca Nut plantation at dusk, or the smell of fresh rasam in the morning, or the way a bonfire changes a group's conversation after 9 PM.

Virama exists to give that experience to people who live 45km away but have never had access to it. The farm is genuinely productive — it is not a set-piece. The trees you walk through are real plantation trees, not ornamental plantings. The food is cooked by someone who has been cooking this way for years.

We keep the property exclusive-use because we believe the best farm stay experience happens when your group has the whole place to themselves — not when you share a pool timeslot with strangers.
